Door Hub

Door Hub is where the organization gets a cluster, puts an environment on it, and decides who can use it. Door DevOps deploys the application into that environment. Door Hub does not build the image.

A cluster gets into Door Hub in one of two ways:

  • Connect a cloud account first. The providers on the page are AWS, GCP, and Azure. Door then lists the clusters on that account, and you import the one you want.
  • Or join any cluster yourself. Manually Add Cluster takes its name, its type, and its API server URL. That covers a cluster on another cloud, or a cluster you run yourself.

A cluster Door creates for you is a separate path: Door Kubernetes Service. It can receive an environment the same way.

Once a cluster is in the organization, a project can place an environment on it. An environment is where an application runs. The list shows the environment and its project in two columns. The switcher on the environment page shows them together, as demo/dev. People on the project reach it according to their access.

Where Hub is in the sidebar

The sidebar has no item named Hub. Under Infrastructure, open Clusters. That page is the list of clusters Door runs for you. It can say No clusters yet while Hub already has clusters.

On that page, the card Manage Hub Clusters says View hub clusters, add from a Cloud Provider or directly with the api server url. The button is Hub Cluster. It opens Hub Clusters.

You are finished with Hub when

  1. The cluster row on Hub Clusters says Ready. If the environment form shows that cluster as — agent not connected, — not available, or — not ready, open the row menu and run Agent Installation before you create the environment.
  2. The project exists, and the environment on that cluster exists. Open the environment name and confirm Resources can load.
  3. The people who will deploy are on the project. Invite them from IAM. See Access.

Deploying the application is the next product. Publishing a hostname you own is the one after that.

Start here

  1. Sign in at https://door.cloud and select your organization.
  2. Open Clusters, then Hub Cluster on Manage Hub Clusters. Connect AWS, GCP, or Azure and import a cluster, or add any cluster with Manually Add Cluster. Run Agent Installation and wait until the row says Ready. See Clusters and cloud providers.
  3. On Environments, create the project if it is not in the list, then the environment on that cluster. See Environments.
  4. Invite people from IAM, then add them to the project. See Access.

Deploying the application is Door DevOps. Creating a new Door cluster is Door Kubernetes Service. Publishing that application on a hostname is Door APIM.
